The garden festival gives each designer a small plot and a theme, and the results run from quiet to theatrical. These two sat near each other.
One was all restraint: blue boats set on raked gravel like a harbour drained of its water, best read from low down with the foreground boat close. The next plot had a hooded figure planted waist-deep in green, quietly unsettling, the sort of thing you notice a beat too late.
I kept a tight and a wide frame of the boats; the wide one is here on the journal but stays off the Bluesky set.
