Several of the festival plots this year leaned into fairy tale. Not my usual register, but they photograph well in the flat midday light, and the children were having a much better time than the adults reading the plaques.

A little house on a raft in the reeds. A pool tiled with floating painted squares. A hollow tree fitted out like a parlour, checkerboard floor and all, waiting for someone the right size. Each one asks you to crouch and look in rather than stand back.

Three frames, one per plot, kept for the variety rather than any single strong picture.
