A few of the plots are really material studies wearing a garden's clothes. Someone had wrapped a single bamboo culm with red cord and left the rest plain, which is all the idea needs.
Further on, a curtain of woven cones hung across the path, and another plot had roofed itself with hundreds of little paper squares that moved in the wind and coloured the light underneath. Texture doing the work that flowers usually do.
