The Loire runs wide and shallow here, and by August it's mostly sandbar, the water finding its way through in braids. A couple of the old flat-bottomed boats were pulled up in the channel, the kind built for exactly this much water.
I shot it on the way out, a plain wide frame with the bridge just in the distance. Not much to it, which felt like the right note to end on after two days of gardens trying hard.
