Late June this far north means the evening light lasts. At half past six the sun was still high enough to gild the new housing on Christianshavn, the gabled roofs catching it one after another along the water.

Ten minutes later, a little further along, the Opera House. It sits low and wide on Holmen, the flat roof doing most of the work, and a small electric boat crossed into the frame at about the right moment. Shot from across the harbor, where the water gives you enough distance to see a building whole.

Earlier in the evening I had been on the Opera side, at the fountain on its forecourt. Two kids had it to themselves, one walking the rim, the other sitting as close to the spray as she dared.
