Two frames to end on. The first is a man in his kitchen, one of the people who kept the place running while we ate and swam and did very little. He held still in a dark room and let me take him, apron on, a picture on the wall behind, the kind of portrait that means more to me than any sunset from the trip.
The second is a pair of agama lizards on a fence post, the male all yellow head and blue body, the colour of a toy. They own every post and wall on this coast, doing their push-ups in the sun, and they will still be there long after the last of us has flown home.
The portrait is the 55 at ISO 12800, a tenth of a second held on a held breath; the lizards are base ISO out in the light. Mountains, plains, a crater, an island: the whole trip, ending quietly on a fence post north of Jambiani.
