The portraits were the close work; this is the same hour pulled back to take in the whole plain. A giraffe stood under the mountain, small against it, the way everything is small against it out here.
Then the volcano itself with the first proper light on it, and a gathering of Maasai further along, a knot of red robes on the open ground. No single subject, just the country and the people and the animals all sharing the same early light.
All three are the 135, ISO 100 to 200 in the clean morning air. The cone is Ol Doinyo Lengai [confirm], and it anchors most of what you see from this plain.
