The way up to the ring is half the appeal: a glass escalator tube hung diagonally across the open gap between the two towers. You start at the ordinary escalators in the lobby, the first frame, and then you are out in the tube with the blue-lit ribs arching past and a small square of warm gold at the top end.

It is a hard place not to photograph, and a hard place where everyone else is photographing too. The third frame is two visitors stopped halfway, one shooting the other on a phone, both grinning, which felt more like the truth of the building than an empty architectural shot would. The middle frame is the lone version: one person riding up into the light, the structure doing all the framing.

The tube ran ISO 12800 throughout, down to 1/10 of a second on the moving escalator, so there is some softness baked in. I kept it. The motion is part of what the place feels like.
