Rydal Water gave us the one properly clear hour of the whole trip, so of course I stayed longer than the light really needed. It is one of the smaller lakes, walkable in an easy loop, fringed with reeds and holding a couple of low wooded islands that sit just off the near shore.
With the cloud finally gone the fells came out and dropped straight into the water, bracken and rock on the far side, and the whole surface went still enough to take the reflection. Two frames, seconds apart, one leaning on the island and the blue sky, the other on the steep ground opposite.
After days of grey this felt like the trip briefly showing what it could do. Base ISO, mid aperture, nothing to fight.
