The last of the light inside the garden went to the teahouses. The thatched one sits back among the trees with the pines arranged in front of it; the other pair sit right on the pond, and at dusk the water gave them back almost whole, a few visitors drifting along the wisteria trellis to the side. Quiet, blue, nearly closing time.

Then out through the gate, and the register changed completely. The third frame is the walk back: reclaimed land behind concrete hoarding, a lone worker in a hi-vis vest, and the new residential towers catching the very last warm light at their tops against a clean dusk gradient. The garden had closed for the day. The city was just switching its lights on.

The teahouse frames ran ISO 1600 in the shade, dropping to 400 out over the open pond; the skyline went back to 1600 as the sun left.
