KITTE keeps a rooftop garden on its sixth floor, and it is the easy way to get above Marunouchi without paying for an observation deck. Three frames in two minutes: the plaza and its oval lawns first, then the terrace itself with its square of grass and wood decking, then the view you actually came for.
That last one is the picture. Tokyo Station's 1914 red brick sits low and ornate in a district that has otherwise gone entirely to glass, the platforms fanning out behind it, a yellow train somewhere in the yard. One old building holding its ground.
