A different morning, away from the sights, just walking a neighbourhood before it fully opened. The Don Quijote tower came first, the whole narrow building turned into one vertical sign with the penguin mascot still mid-yawn near the base, the street empty and the sun coming in low and flat.

Then the things you only see when you slow down: a Starbucks dressed up in timber battens and hanging plants, a holiday wreath already on the door in mid-November, one person heading in for the first coffee. And around a corner, a green-tiled apartment block with a brown spiral stair bolted up its side, a little red-railed bridge in front. Nobody designed these to be looked at together, which is exactly why I like them together.

All on the 55 at f/4.8, base ISO in clean morning light, nothing to fight. This was along Mozawa-dori, near the bridge.
