There are a few of these in the Lakeland woods: a fallen trunk where walkers hammer a coin edge-on into the end grain for luck, and then the next walker does the same, until the whole face is metal. Copper mostly, gone green where the weather has got at it.

The top-down frame is the one that surprised me. From directly above it reads almost like a coin mandala, everything pointing to the centre, no wood left to see. The side view gives it the setting, the lake behind through the trees, and shows how far down the trunk the habit runs.

ISO 1600 on the second frame, which for this camera is nothing, but it tells you how little light there was under the canopy.
